about
“Morris End”, the ergine outsider pop debut from Brisbane teen Arthington Stack is out on June 21st, 2023 through Endless Records
Arthington Stack compels serious notice on his label debut single “Morris End”. Tinkering in the damp recesses of a concrete basement in suburban Brisbane, Stack’s obsessive pursuits have yielded an idiosyncratic outsider sound, with layers and levels.
The grainy baroque Barrett-esque pop of “Morris End” dresses in rebellious lo-fi tones. Among snatches of 60’s Soho psychedelia, black metal, baroque pop and general outlier weirdly-ness, Stack has a freewheeling and thrilling method at play. A shift in time and place, an arcane moodiness with hints of underlying beauty and a writer with new things to say and new ways to say them.
Arthington Stack adds that Morris End, “is a seaside's song of hopes and fears. I'd love to see you all in Morris End.”
This is the first new music from his debut album, His Sterrible Ark due later this year.
